Isn't your intank pump sitting in a round plastic cradle? And that has a piece of band steel that is screwed to the a metal line? The pump really doesn't move that much. I've had a short piece of fuel hose on mine for 8 yrs now. No issues. I have seen the accordion type of hose on late 80s models.
