I missed checking your car's year, and the info I gave is for later 700/900 cars. A single-terminal 1986 740 sender I tested showed approx. 1000 ohms at room temp, and 80-90 ohms at 100C. For the single-terminal sender, resistance check is from the terminal to ground (terminal case or engine block).
