I've appreciated the feedback some of you have provided me in the recent past. My car is continuing to misbehave and I haven't been able to get it to the garage nor work on it myself. I can be driving along and suddenly it stops dead; however, I've been able to start it up again and continue on my journey.
A couple of weeks ago, I drove approximately 5 miles and parked at a store. I came out, started it up and within 2 minutes, it stopped. I was able to start it again and it stopped within 100 yards. I was able to start it again and make it home in one piece.
As most of you have suggested, it could be the coil and/or ignition amplifier module. The additional fly in the ointment is, every time I shut the car off, it sounds as though the air conditioning is shutting down as well and I have not used the AC in years (my AC switch is not on). Would this somehow have any connection to the existing problem? Is there some kind of switch in there that I can deactivate or replace? Something is going on with this. Thanks again, guys. You're great. Long live the Brickboard!
Best regards to all,
Pam
