Pulling/rebuilding the OD is not just cheaper but it's easier too. Don't believe that junk in the manual about how the OD is impossible to rebuild. It isn't. Just keep it as clean as you'd keep an engine and you'll be just fine. It's a very straightforward piece of equipment.
