Loss of power

I checked the connector to the AMM on both Volvos. Both look clean and good. Both boots are free of cracks and all connections are free of any corrosion. It idles clean until I unplug the AMM, making it stumble and run badly. Plugging it back in returns the idle to a normal hum.

I'm wondering about a faulty fuel injector or possibly the coolant sensor. I get fine gas mileage but horrible throttle response.
