What to do when you can't make time to work on your car?

When I was in that shape I fixed it at night so I would have transportation to work
in the morning....... No work, no ride.
Sorta helps set priorities.
BTW the time consumed in getting the car to a mechanic (trustworthy or otherwise) and
then to get it back again, frequently exceeded the time to repair.
