''Others have suffered problems using the rope trick.'' 700 1988

Just curious and I am no expert. If you use the rope trick to immobilize the crank aren't you essentially using only 1 cylinder to do so? My mental image of the internals when you do so would make me wonder if that does not put stress on the connecting rod for that one cylinder? Weakest link in that one cylinder and associated parts would likely be the connecting rod bearing? Couldn't you make that one cylinders con rod bearing out of round by this sort of force? Thoughts?
