should I get a xc70 or keep my 945?

Thanks.

The wiring to the speedo sensor looks fine and the connector is not corroded. I checked for continuity between the speedo sensor and the speedo head with an ohm meter and the wiring seems fine.
I did the tests in the FAQ and this is what happened:
1) Momentarily jump (on and off) the wires leading from the sensor to the speedometer: speedometer did not budge.
2) Disconnect the speedo cable from the sensor: the ABS light did not come on when driving.
3) Checking for function of the ABS light: it does not light before startup along with the other warning lights. Indicating a problem with the ABS warning light circuit.

The results were the same with both of the speedo units. I want to test the ABS by pounding the brakes and might have a chance to do that this week (the ABS worked this summer before the speedo quit). I am thinking that it might be a bad ground connection because both the ABS light and speedo aren't functioning, and appear to have a common ground under the driver's side of the dash. I haven't checked the warning light yet by applying 12V, and will do so. I live in manhattan and I like working on cars, but doing so is a bit of a logistical problem. Can you think of something else?

Thanks
Steve
