Facing the choice and need advice - 180K miles 1994

"I would replace the heater valve, heater hoses, and radiator if they have not been replaced."

To clarify the Radiator comment. The main reason to replace an original radiator is the tranny cooler integrated into it. When it fails (not if) your tranny is toast in short order. Also, the upper nipple on the radiator gets brittle and can fracture, mostly when someone leans on it, causing catastrophic loss of coolant.
