engine 200 1989

The connector on the AMM may have a loose or corroded pins inside. You may want to peel the rubber boot back and make sure the pins do not slip upwards when tugged on. Observe the pins after it is connected before putting the rubber boot back in place.

When you cleaned the AMM you may have disturbed them into working again. Without the sensor working the computer may have ran the car in limp mode.

You might want to share more symptoms of how it is running during cold, warming up and after it is up to operating temperature. Are the spark plugs burning clean? How is the mileage is doing?
