More info- in neutral the idle varies between 1200 and 1800, it just floats contstally back and forth. Doesnt. What is now obvious is that is too fast- floating or not ( sorry- was under the hood looking for vaccum leak- I just looked at the tach ) In gear, it is much more steady and at 1000 rpm. Drives smooth and has plenty of power.
