Clutch question 444-544 1958

There should be resistance as the throwout bearing compresses the pressure plate, just as you say.

I know you said that everything in the linkage is moving as it should, so maybe I don't need to ask - but does that include the release fork? Is it moving too?

Some of the linkage is attached to the engine side of things, the rest is attached to the chassis side. New motormounts = changed geometry and a different interface between the two.

Try adjusting the clutch first, and see whether that does it.

Best,
