OK so you most likely have a charging problem...
Can't help you with that as I can't stand generators (too weak/failure prone). Others here run gens...me only alts
BTW this car converts to alt pretty simply but as you are just beginning maybe you want to keep it simple...also learning to trouble shoot a gen/VR will get you up to speed pretty quick on auto electrics....
