I'm in Bay Shore (western Suffolk county) and could probably help you with this. The SU "guru" mentioned would be Joe Curto - located in College Point, Queens. I don't know if he does "tuning" in his tiny shop but he is a good guy--I buy my SU parts from him and sell cores to him.
