Cold compression readings 700

Thanks, I will try your tips. But I am thinking that the old gas that sat for 3 years has turned to varnish and clogged up the injectors. My reasoning is that the car will try to start if it has sat for a few minutes after an attempt. I am figuring that the injectors are dripping fuel very slowly, if at all. When using the stethoscope to listen to the injectors, only the #4 injector was making a pronounced click as the car cranked. The other three were either just transmitting the sound from #4, or were very weakly trying to actuate, but not completely. Finally, only the #4 spark plug is good and wet after a start attempt. The #3 is a little, very little wet, and the #1 and #2 are bone dry.

The fuel rail is getting at least some gas, as the first hose from the pressure regulator has a tiny leak and it bleeds down with a squeal (which indicates a decent degree of pressure as opposed to just dripping out silently )after the system is pressurized.

For whatever it may be worth, this car ran, actually very well considering, when the original head gasket failed between the #3 and #4 cylinders. She would start and run just fine, but with a loping idle, even though the compression on those two cylinders was way below Volvo spec. I think it was around 70 PSI to 90 PSI. I am thinking that with 120 PSI cold, the engine should fire now, and at least idle, even if kind of poorly.

I will try squirting some oil in the cylinders before I pull the injectors, and wiggling the crank sensor wire too, though. Your suggestions do make good sense.

What is your opinion if the injectors are not delivering fuel to all cylinders, though? Replace or clean?
