My car's an 86 (LH 2.2) and thus does not have a throttle position switch - only a throttle sensor switch, and it clicks as soon as I give the throttle pulley a millimeter or two worth of rotation, clicking open, clicking shut, as it should. All those tests of the throttle position sensor seem to apply to the LH2.4 and LH3.1 FI systems. Maybe it's still in fact malfunctioning? That FAQ for the 700/900 is mighty interesting, and just as much confusing. Whew.
I took a gander at that Idle Control Valve just now - the biggish looking device fed by wires from the engine loom with two 1" hoses coming out of it, one onto the inside of the manifold, the other into the accordion just before its contact with the TB. The hoses LOOKED intact to me; I certainly never touched them during the throttle body cleaning process. Should I test the circuit on it?
Thanks a lot
