Thought I would close the loop. I was pretty successful at my first attempt. I bought the headliner a couple years ago off ebay & it fit pretty good. It did not have the plastic tabs sewn on around the rear window. I had the rear window out so I had good access. I used some 12 gauge wire salvaged from some old romex house wiring as a filler to hold the headliner in the groove around the window - just put the headliner in the groove & drove the wire in on top of it. I installed the screws in the holes for the dome light & visors prior to putting the headliner in. I had an old wallpaper steamer that I used to get the wrinkles out before installation. Used a staple gun instead of carpet tacks back by the hat shelf. Spent about 3 hrs total. Not perfect but good enough. If I were to do it over I'd use some weatherstrip adhesive around the perimeter like the guys do on the You tube videos.
