strut tower removal- brake lines

IF... we're talking about a 240 or other Volvo which has 2 brake lines on each front strut assembly... which is sort of intimidating... I have in the past simply cut the bracket very carefully at each loop the brake hoses pass through.

Use a thin "wafer" wheel on an angle grinder. Bend a bit of the bracket up, a bit down, and pull the metal line out, leaving everything connected. Disconnect the caliper and "unwrap" the lines from around the strut bottom.

Be patient, have extra hands for help. If you damage a line or hose, you must replace it for your own safety. But with care it is possible to remove the struts and not open brake hydraulics.

Good luck!
