Electrical issues 140-160 1973

Brake light always on -> This happens on my '71 164 too, and I think (hope) it's the handbrake switch that may be stuck on.

It's been mentioned to me before but just go through and check the wiring. On my 164 nearly every single spade connector was corroded. Replace them with shiny new ones and brush the contacts with light sandpaper or wire brush so that you know you're getting a firm contact. And hopefully your wiring isn't as bad as mine is. You are not alone my friend!

See my previous post on my own melted wires discovery! The miracle is the the headlights mostly worked!

Intermittent issues are likely loose wiring/contacts rather than something being burned out. Also check fusebox connections?

As for the rest, it's Lucas electrical. There are too many Lucas electrical jokes to mention.

Lucas: Prince of Darkness.
