It's only been 2 years:

There should be hog clips keeping the bottom portion together, where they cannot be seen with the seat installed. On other seats, I just feel along the seam and when I find one of the 4 hog clips, I pry the vynil/leather apart and cut the clip with a pair of dykes. When assembling, plastic zip ties replace the hog clips.
