TR Conn made a good practical solution--but years ago while my friend Gert had his repair shop we built a 1949 Chevy Step-side pickup using the B30 motor and M400 transmission from a 1969 164. With the long shifter from an M40 it looked perfect. Our first test drive involved Gert at the wheel, steering and operating the brakes, clutch and shifter while I sat on the fenderwell operating the throttle--great fun! -- Dave
