radio 444-544

I had a 1959 MB190 sedan (in 1965-paid $50 for the car) with a Becker Europa three band radio -am/fm/sw. I also had a Blaupunkt in a 1964 VW Beetle with am/fm/sw. I saved both radios and used them in various Volvos--544 and 122's. Both radios could be switched from 6 to 12 volt operation and the Blaupunkt could also switch from neg. ground to positive ground. I gave that one to a friend who has a 1949 International pickup -- 6 volt, positive ground system. Cleaning shelves quite a few years ago (pre ebay and craigslist) I tossed the Becker -- now I see ads from old Porsche owners looking for those radios. Oh well. -- Dave
