What did you end up doing with your clock?

Modify ashtray opening or clock works?

Make new hole where early dash clock was mounted (to right of radio)?

My stock ashtray opening is 3.75" wide with 2 small cutouts on each side that extend its width to almost 4", so even if I modified the height to fit the clockworks, the clock bezel wouldn't cover the existing hole, correct?

I wonder what the dimensions of the original clock hole was?
