Update 200 1980

The voltage stabilizer behind the dash was very easy to access and inspect. The contacts were like new, without rust, but I sanded them anyway. I do NOT have access to a replacement voltage stabilizer.

I inspected the thermostat: Calorstat V6578, 74' Celsius on the side. There are no visible flaws and it opens up somewhere between 165 and 190'F (hard to get the temperature perfect with boiled water).

I reviewed the mechanic's records regarding the thermostat said nothing about his reason for using a 74' Celsius thermostat, when 180'F seems to be the OEM. The reason for the repair in which he replaced the thermostat is the water pump leaked, i.e. he wrote nothing else there.

Should I be using a 74' Celsius thermostat?
