I thought it was worth it to get shed of the really stupid Connecticut Plates that said "EARLY AMERICAN" with the tiller steered car icon. The white and black plates looked good on black cars but I just couldn't abide the legend. I wrote DMV about that 5 times before I found out about YOM. The first car I had (1963) had all numbers 811-345 and I wish I still had them but I did find all number plates for the 62.
I believe that the Connecticut classic plates, as of recent issue, no longer say "EARLY AMERICAN" mostly thanks to my letters and probably the 1,000s of folks who drive vintage cars like you that aren't american in origin.
