How come no limiting straps? 140-160

My 1974 144 rear springs are only attached at the bottom end. I thought my 1973 142 was the same.

Because we rally the 144, I've made limiting straps out of old seat belt. The difficulty is getting the length right, plus the constant hitting with rocks means they need replacing more often than I'd have thought.
