Amazing thing about that 88 (and your 89 too)-- you can pull all the fuses out of that panel and drive across town in the daylight -- as long as you don't get rear-ended or stopped by the law for not signalling.
Yes the feed from the ignition switch daisy chains on the hot side of the fuses before going to the coil, but you had battery on coil #15 in your original post. The only thing related to engine running that gets affected by an indoor fuse on that car is the tank pump -- fuse 4. Next year (your 89) they add the oxygen sensor heater. That's it.
Typical spark failure with those V/C ignition cars is the insulation on the leads between the connector and the Hall switch. All those bum Hall switches? It isn't the semiconductor that's failing, it is the insulator! You probably made it work by jostling it.
