Yes, a water pump, really big pipe wrench, or chain wrench.
I'll give a really big pipe wrench a whirl next time.
I use what was always called a water pump wrench. What you use as a counter hold when removing or tightening the water pump pulley from the water pump.
That tool from iPd or any tool shop can be a cause of many bad words.
You can find the Volvo tool for grasping onto the gland nut, yet they usually fit Boge gland nuts, and not other manufacturers.
I also have a very large channel lock pliers that can sometimes work to break the gland nut loose as well as torque the gland nut down.
