9 years is more than a few...

Yours sounds like a traditional fuel pump relay failure if you ignore the codes. In a 9-series it is called something like a fuel system relay. Have you considered the codes might be a false flag? The relay and the potential of a melted relay socket are both suspect if not recently inspect/re-soldered/replaced.
