Floating Timing 444-544

sorry to state the obvious but : cap and rotor? HT cables? Coil dying? Plugs?
MAke sure the basics are covered before getting fancy. BTW I have had a new cap and rotor that were quite bad and had me chasing carburation for quite awhile before I realized. In that case the old cap and rotor fixed the problem (so much for Preventative maintenance!)
