Yep, Swedish Baklava, may wire up from within like you. Sort of like how I believe Subaru and Toyota do so in their rear-hatch equipped vehicles as the hinges are inside the passenger cabin, only exposed to outdoor when the rear hatch / tail gate us up. No real severe cranking or folding like on our cars.

The hinges remain about perfect, even though they are a pull from the gold 1992 240 at a Portland, OR junkyard in 2006 or so. No sag.

Would have been so much cheaper to keep the Bidwill family NFL Cardinals in St. Louis; rightly stolen from Chicago in the 1960s or so.

All works now, yet these wires at the hinges are fraying, so, well, we'll see.
