Challenging Ignition Problem: 1987 Volvo 245 GL

I'd say the only "easy" way would be to take the entire pump/filter assembly off a parts car. The connection to the pump from the tank is a simple slip on and the connection from the assembly forward is rarely a problem. Always use counterhold wrenches.
If replacing just the pump the connection between it and the filter can be fragile and difficult to manipulate to get tight since you need to have a hold on both units as well as the tubular link between them so things line up straight. -- Dave
