fuel hose source? 200

OK I know this thread is old . . . but I just had a fuel hose go bad last night--and thought I would post a couple of observations.

First, the car is my '91 245 LH3.1 DD. I smelled gasoline when I got home last night and pretty much knew what it was. I pulled the old hose off this AM (in the rain) and found that it had delaminated and split near the chassis clamp above the rear axle. FWIW, the hose was the original, marked with PN 1312257, inner diameter is 12mm, and length is 36 inches.

I needed the car to pull a trailer this PM, so that meant finding the right hose locally ASAP. Fortunately, I found CRP (Continental) 12mm fuel line (CRP # N203741) at the local BAP-GEON. Store owner said it's a regularly stocked item, has a working pressure of > 100PSI, and is supposed to be 30R7 compliant.

The CRP hose went on "just right" and I was able to reuse the original clamps, no leaks.

All that said, I may order 3 ft of the Volvo hose (1312257) . . . part "just in case," and part because I have another old 240 with the original hose still in place.

Almost would have been an enjoyable job if not for the rain . . .

Hope this helps!
