Checking the chip for damage 200 1992

Dave, there's no questioning your soldering; looks great. A 260 on Rx1 is perfect for checking the transistors for shorts. Ground is the same foil you see joined to the large heat sink tabs on the chip. I should have said so.

I should note here, as there's always an exception. In every case where someone has brought me a damaged board, damaged by the coil signal, one of the step motor transistors was shorted. Close to zero ohms to ground. Not being shorted doesn't prove it wasn't damaged, but being shorted does prove it was.

Does the gear you have in there now look like carver's?

Milt Famie was a pitcher for the Cubs. Unfortunately, he had a great fondness for beer. After walking several successive batters in the 9th inning, the manager of the opposing team turned to one of the batters asking what that was all about. Said the batter "It was the beer that made Milt Famie walk us."
