B20 & M40 identification 140-160

Engine:
There were 80+ versions of the B20 engine.
It varies based on type (B20A/B/E/etc), gearbox, steering (LHS/RHS), market and so on.

All had a 6 digit type number like these;
4969xx
4980xx
4982xx

Look below spark plug 2 and 3.

Number to the right for the type number is the serial number of that specific engine and of less interest here.

Gearbox (M40/M41);
look under and rear, there is a brass plate with the needed numbers.
