HELP me solve a Volvo mystery

While sorting through my collection of 140 series type windshield washer pumps I came across one that has no way to attach wires--the "ports" are blocked off. Taking the red cap off reveals a pristine motor. WHAT THE HECK??? It has the number 683846 cast into the top of the black part. -- Dave
