If your temperature gauge is accurate, or you can add one, trying a lower pressure cap is a cost-effective experiment.

Buying a new or used core is a great choice as you can do that from your present location and have it ready to install. This would be the most cost effective cure that leaves you with no worries and the least amount of time spent on the job.

Time is money - unless you are retired!
