For whatever it may be worth, I recently titled my '58 PV444 that had been sitting in my garage for close to 20 years after purchase from previous California owner.
Nevada required a visual inspection be done by DMV or a police officer to verify VIN # to title a car not previously titled in Nevada. I had the "pink slip"
( California title ) that had been signed when car was purchased, but for some reason, California had used the engine # instead of the chassis # to title the car. The engine was long gone, but after checking the chassis plate on the firewall and spending about 45 minutes on the computer, the DMV inspector came out and handed me the signed inspection report, and I went in and titled the car. Now the fun of getting the car up and running begins !
