LED headlight for old plastic lens?

Hi GAcyclops,

"Wondering if LED headlight bulbs might compensate for yellowed plastic headlight lenses and old reflectors"
--> Yes, better.

I have been using LEDs for almost 5 years, initially with non-standard cheap China made H4 bulbs then later started using standard Osram H4 available on eBay. At all occasions there was much improvement over the halogen. Better road illumination overall. Only at end of last year I installed a pair of Taiwan made DJAuto E-code headlight assembly (new inside reflector too) the LED experience became SO much better like modern cars nowadays. OE headlight was wayyy too much price for me.

Worth mentioning here about HID gas-filled headlight bulbs. They are MUCH brighter than any LEDs (and halogen of course) but had to deal with cumbersome ballast box installation outside of headlight assembly. I accidentally shorted the metal ballast box near the battery and that was the end of it.

Regards,
Amarin.
