The old Carb question... 140-160

I should have read this 1st.

.426" lift sounds stockish, do you have dual springs? Schneider tends to have 2 or 3 different profiles for each amount of duration, I'll look at their site. 110° would refer to LSA, it's the angle between the inlet & exhaust lobes. After you degree the cam in, you should have the inlet lobe centre at 106°, the exhaust at 114°, this gives 4° advance, the place 95% of 2 valve engines end up at.

For future reference, B20E exhausts are 2.125" & Volvo originals are very high quality & straight through. I'm not up to speed with magnoflows products, I know they have some good straight through types, so long as it's NOT a 'triple flow' or 'turbo' style.

Compression & Cams: With an E gasket, you are probably at 10.4:1. High compression & low compression cams are two different things, next time around, I'll tell you would you should have got, provided this cam did break in properly & it has 8 lobes still :)

Your float problem, the spring in the mechanical pump is what controls the pressure, it won't be a problem. The B20 is a bit of a shaky one & higher compression makes them worse, that can send the needle & seat off. What I said in the other post about that applies. Your other problem, besides flooding, is the emissions throttles, if they have them, or the vacuum hoses the wrong way around, or something more simple like one of the choke idle screws.

Cheers,
Paul.
