Getting bored yet of hearing about the Pitman Arm fiasco?
Well, I'm here to tell you that the OTC8149 worked ! I had to do just a wee bit of grinding on it for clearance. You wanna talk about a substantial tool? That thing must weigh close to 4 LBS ! Long story short.
Had to remove the lower control arm to properly line it up. I used a rope threaded through the spring to hold the the suspension up. NO worries or surprises that way. I heated things up once again and got the Pitman nice and cozy. Now it's time to apply some muscle. I first tried twisting the bolt with a regular socket wrench with no luck. Once I got a 3' breaker bar in on the action, I could feel some movement, but still not enough. Then I decided to just go for it, and pulled on that S.O.B. with everything I had.............about 5 seconds later you could hear the POP as it finally released from the steering shaft! Woo Hoo ! Thank all y'all for the help !
