I can't comment on brands, but in cars with no downstream O2 sensor (your LH 2.4 car, for instance( don't care what's behind the sensor, so long as it's not plugged up. I don't see why any cat that fits would cause an issue.
As far as I know, O2 sensor threads are universal. Some systems are picky about the actual sensor, and I don't know if 2.4 is or not. I've always had trouble getting them out after they've been in a while, even with the proper socket. Best wishes in getting your exhaust sorted--it's not a job I consider fun, but satisfying when your car sounds and runs good.
For what it's worth, my '95 940 N/A (also LH2.4) has an aftermarket turbo cat--no issues.
