interchagability of ICU's 200 89

Hola bricksters:

I replaced the ECU in my 89 240 with the remanufactured one(= mucho money),,fine and dandy...now I am getting a 1-1-2 code indicating the ICU is also bad...(foolishly, I had also replaced it,but with a used one..I'm going to put back in the original ICU for a while). Now for the BIG question..I have on hand a really clean ICU from a 92 240 (Bosch # 0 277 400 209). Can I replace the 89 (Bosch # 0 227 400 402) with the one from the 92? If I do so, what can be ruined?
