Check the 700/900 FAQ for procedure to check operation of O2 sensor. It is basically the same for 200 series cars.

If it is bad, it is a pretty easy job to replace the O2 sensor. Use Liquid Wrench or PBlaster on the sensor threads ahead of time. It takes a 21 or 22 mm wrench.

BTW, if you shop around, you can save a LOT of money on the sensor. I found a local Bosch retailer who sold me an O2 sensor for $120, vs. $200 from the dealer.
