Yesterday my battery died (I'm thinking of suing Volvo as it was only 12 years old!) my wife was able to start the car but there wasn't enough power left to keep the stereo on line. After she saw "some letters" on the screen she attempted to get it going again by punching in station presets at every stoplight on the way home. Of course, unknowingly, she was recoding the anti theft device which then shut down for 24 hrs after three attempts. My problem is that now after about 30 hrs the stereo will still not let me recode. About 20 hrs ago I replaced the battery and I am wondering if that restarted the reset clock and I now have to wait another 24hrs? What keeps the reset clock running when the main battery is disconnected? How does it know? Is HAL taking over my car? Help!
