You're probably aware of this, but the through bolt connecting points, condenser, and lead to coil has an insulator which isolates bolt from distributor body. Occasionally, for no apparent reason, this bolt shorts out to body. Make certain it's centered in the hole and isolating washers, paper shield are in good shape.
