Best way to replace motor mounts?

Got new motor mounts today. Orignals don't look bad, it's on my list to change all rubber 'thingys' on the car. Result of having too much free time and cheap oe parts, and being a volvo nut.

I read faq's about using the wood and a lag bolt technique. Anyone try this on a 200. I don't seem to have enough space on the frame.

What is the weight of the egnine? Is it possible to damage the side fenders?

Is the jacking up the oil pan, with wood inbetween really bad? 240 version of hanyes says it's ok while 740 hanyes says no no. Or should I just rent a engine hoist?
