Two pin head shaped electrodes separated by a space. The operating voltage is 2500 volts +or- 500/800 Volts. The application listed is for stactic dissipation on CRT's, Cathode Ray Tubes, scopes.

The trouble may be that the part I have is 20 years old. I also have a similar part in another car radio, Fujitsu 86260-20090. It is a glass diode package in that radio and the schematic symbol is a double reversed Zener Diode. Two opposing solid arrow points with one bent (zener) bar between them.
The spark gap should not fail at all. It should not fail shorted. Removing it would have no effect.
As you noted the KK prefix is the difference.
