I've used a dark finish detailer that smells good enough to eat and my brother in law warned me about using it around bees. One summer he worked detailing cars and they had to watch it.

Maybe the guy spilled something in his trunk...I'm surprised the cops didn't treat the bee swarm as probable cause and pop the trunk to inspect.
