The appearance of the dead fuse can be a clue. Repeated or marginal overcurrent will weaken and break a fuse like metal fatigue. A dead short will leave a gap and a burn.
Several unrelated fuses failing in the former way might indicate a way-overcharging alternator, but I suspect you'd smell sulphur when you lift the hood and be replacing a lot of lamps, etc.
Several seemingly unrelated fuses popping in the latter way may be related by the cable or harness that was pinched when some mechanical work was done, or I suppose when a hinge joint wore through the insulation as in door and hatch wiring.
Would help me if you could post which fuses and what sort of demise they encountered...
